Here’s The Story
Hi, I’m Simon.
Cowart Company is my consulting home and an Atlanta-based digital marketing and growth strategy firm. I’ve worked with SMBs, nonprofits, and the worlds largest enterprises to build marketing strategy and futurity in a fast moving age for brands. Captivated by the new connective tissue of our world as it emerged in the early 2000s, my natural curiosity lead to my experimentation across a number of early social channels and obsession with some. I found joy in building a bridge to newer technologies from a wide-range of starting points.
Building Coca-Cola’s Hub Network
In 2013 I joined the global sparkling brand team at Coca-Cola as they built an industry-leading Social Media Command Center, making the beverage giant an early investor in the creation of meaningful social experiences for their consumers. Leading teams across North America and Europe, those most mature in social and impactful on global social messaging, Simon oversaw brand critical campaigns such as the Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup, The Olympics and more in partnership with global functions managing broader brand and crisis communications.
What exactly did we build? Glad you asked. A global messaging platform for public relations and crisis response, Nexus, was my baby. A tightnit network of over 600 social marketers across dozens of markets, and budgets. The CTFD index. An enterprise brand that could move at the speed of emerging channels.
Teaching the Enterprise To Listen
After my departure from Coca-Cola in 2017, I joined social listening and analytics industry leader NetBase (now Quid) and lead accounts including Yum! Brands, Hulu, Best Buy, Carl’s Jr. and others, as a lead Enterprise Strategist. I delivered models for benchmarking meaningful social conversation spikes to inform necessity for brand messaging and planning, or more likely informed inaction, as we applied modern social business intelligence across a range of industries.
For so many of these brands and the bright leaders that inhabit and create them on a daily basis, it can be a powerful reconnection to the consumer and, when properly leveraged, create a more meaningful individual brand experience than has ever been possible.
Embracing the Creator Voice
As digital conversations, and the ways we manage brands entry to them, have changed, creators have become the travel guides of the modern digital landscape. In the modern age an authentic character is more meaningful than a brand, and can be more powerful. These wayfinders of the complex modern product and service landscape simplify our search for what we need.
Cohesive Strategies for Growth
At the end of the day, marketing is only as powerful as the decisions and purchases that result from it. As Vice President of Growth at Alloy my role was to connect brand leaders with the minds and strategies that would drive results in complex industries from the first impression to the last click. We had fun, we drove multi-million dollar sales outcomes, relaunched the brand to bring together acquired units, and built partnerships across a wide range of sectors and brand needs.
The bottom line is this: I’ve spent years creating adaptive strategies for a complex marketing technology environment using imagination, experimentation, and data to deliver results.
